The Cheshire Area of NAFAS

Commonwealth Observance Day - 11th March 2013

Back

Cheshire was one of the areas asked to send arrangers down to help NAFAS decorate Westminster Abbey ready for the Commonwealth Observance Day Service. Kate Russell and I attended for Cheshire and had a wonderful time creating very large arrangements to stand at the front of the choir stalls. The flowers were provided and conditioned by the NAFAS Westminster Abbey representative and were superb.

Our arrangements used flowers in the colours of the flag for Antigua and Barbuda.

We both really enjoyed the whole experience and I will never forget clambering around the Abbey with my shoes off after the crowds had all gone, the organist practising some pieces and fellow arrangers all creating beautiful designs.
